Oyster Works created a design to renovate and expand a landscaping and power equipment store.
We began by working closely with the owner and his staff to analyze their needs, and develop a building program that would guide us in designing the new showroom and renovations to the existing building. Key to our process was developing a detailed assessment of the existing building and creating a design that uses the sound parts of the foundation and structure. By looking at the flow of people and equipment through the building we were able to arrange the functions and uses of the existing building and new showroom to maximize efficiency and reduce projected construction and operating costs. We also guided the project through the local Planning Commission, the Zoning Board of Review and the State Fire Marshal. The project is located in a Traditional Village District and marries modern energy efficient systems with traditional materials.
