ChurchWoods is an affordable housing development for elderly people. The project is in pre-development which simply means that we are doing initial design work and examining its feasibility. Many of the questions have to do with water, both well water for drinking and the design of the septic system. The site is located in a critical resource area and, as Charlestown, RI has no municipal water or sewer system, a denitrification system will have to be installed. ChurchWoods is a project of Washington County Community Development Corporation and has the support of the Episcopal Diocese of Rhode Island and the Town of Charlestown.
