"we are excited to have a person of Megan's talents and experience on the AIA board of directors." Christine Malecki West, AIA board president
Architect and Oyster Works Partner Megan Moynihan, AIA has designed buildings, office spaces, and residences for clients from New York City to Rhode Island. Megan has a keen ability to blend the needs of owners with the site and surrounding community and to craft thoughtful, forward-looking designs. Megan's work on the eco-friendly, energy-efficient Charlestown Package Store, a traditional design with a modern edge, has won accolades, received extensive press coverage, and attracted many admirers. Her commercial portfolio includes the Manhattan headquarters for Estabrook Capital Management, the executive offices for Navigator Holdings, retail space planning, affordable housing, and animal shelters. Her residential work includes an environmentally friendly, small-scale Rhode Island beach house, a log cabin in the New Mexico wilderness, and stylish New York lofts and apartments. Megan's passion for outstanding design led her to write Ten Houses: Gwathmey Siegel; the first in a series of books on contemporary residential architecture by edited by Oscar Riera Ojeda. Megan also won the Lowenfish Design Prize while completing her Master of Architecture from Columbia University. Megan combines her architecture practice with her love of the arts. An expert in American paintings, she worked at Sotheby's and Christie's auction houses prior to opening a private gallery on Madison Avenue in New York City. When not at her drafting table or on-site with an Oyster Works' client, Megan continues to build private and corporate collections and advise clients on the purchase of art and antiques.
