About Us

Oyster Works, a certified Women’s Business Enterprise (DBE/WBE), is an architecture and project management firm based in Charlestown, RI. We design and build sensibly green projects throughout Rhode Island, the Northeast, and in New York City. As architects we design thoughtful commercial and residential buildings and interiors. As project managers we are responsible for every aspect of the project, from permitting to general contracting. Our sensibly green approach incorporates energy efficient building systems that make sense for your project and your budget.

Megan Moynihan cofounded Oyster Works in 2008 and is the Design Principal. Her work has been cited for its design flair and Sensibly Green approach to energy efficiency and construction systems.


Megan has a Master of Architecture from Columbia University, is certified by the National Council of Architecture Registration Boards (NCARB) and is registered in Rhode Island, Connecticut and New York. Prior to beginning her architecture career, she was Senior Specialist in American Paintings at Christie’s New York auction house and owned a private gallery on Madison Avenue. Megan is an Ironman 70.3 triathlete and competes in endurance events throughout New England.

Project Manager and Oyster Works co-founder Andrew Baer coordinates the efforts of the architect, contractors, and material suppliers to ensure that the design is realized on-time and on-budget.


Andrew has led workshops for the Department of Housing and Urban Development, the New York Landmarks Conservancy, the Chamber of Commerce, and the YMCA. He is a licensed pilot, an active environmentalist, and a competitive triathlete and marathoner.

We love interior design – choosing fabrics, lighting, colors and furniture that bring interiors to life. Oyster Works principal, Megan Moynihan, has a background in the fine arts and worked at Sotheby’s and Christie’s auction houses prior to opening her own gallery on Madison Avenue. We provide a range of services and are happy to work with other interior designers.
